WONDERLAD ONLUS
Pediatric Center in Catania

An oasis of care, support, and hope for children with oncological diseases and their families. Born from the vision of architect Emilio Randazzo, the international design competition was won by the Frontini & Terrana architecture firm from Florence. WonderLAD is a state-of-the-art facility comprising clinics, classrooms, recreational spaces, a cafeteria, accommodation units, and an auditorium for musical, cultural, and social events. The building features a wooden shell, with glulam frames, XLAM walls, and a glulam slab roof. The envelope is completed with window frames, a comprehensive cork cladding system, natural ventilation, and aluminum sheeting.
